Rangers could reportedly sack Russell Martin as early as Saturday night (September 20) if his side fail to beat Hibernian in the Scottish League Cup.

The Scot has made a catastrophically poor start to life as the Gers’ boss, without a single win in his opening five Scottish Premiership gamesIt’s thought that the Scottish giants’ ownership has informed the 39-year-old that he must oversee wins against third-place Hibernian, Belgian outfit Genk in the Europa League (September 25) and Livingston (September 28). It’s a tough ask of a team that has made its worst start to a campaign since 1978.If Rangers suffer any negative results in those respective games, then Martin’s dismissal is “inevitable”, and he is “targeting” three wins. The noise from the Ibrox faithful has become undeniable in recent weeks, with supporters demanding the Scot departs either voluntarily or through the sack.
