Celtic ‘to wrap up another Scottish Premiership title’ after foolish Rangers claim

Barry Ferguson has left Ibrox after taking charge of his final game as interim boss against Hibernian at Easter Road in the league on 17 May.

There’s uncertainty at the Glaswegian outfit right now with no manager and the takeover still not official, which could potentially already play in their Old Firm rivals’ hands for next season.

The Scottish journalist believes the new Gers boss will surely ask for time during his first press conference, but that could potentially lead to another disappointing Scottish Premiership season at Ibrox.
McDermott feels that Brendan Rodgers could possibly have another league title wrapped before the new year if the Bears disregard the 2025/26 term due to a lack of planning and preparation.

The journalist wrote in the Record (26 May): “The incoming gaffer has to hit the ground running. Supporters expect — quite rightly — a serious title challenge from the off.
“But unless the new guy gets their feet under the table in the next week or so, that looks highly unlikely. No doubt, at his first press conference, he’ll say he needs time. But after what happened a year ago, that would be foolish.
“The club can’t afford to write off another campaign so flimsily due to a lack of preparation, planning or organisation. If they do? Well, come October, November, December — Celtic and Brendan Rodgers will have five-in-a-row wrapped up.”

Gerrard and Ancelotti have been linked with Rangers, but the fans have mixed feelings towards them.
While the Liverpool icon won the league title after a 10-year drought at the Bears, supporters aren’t convinced by his return, as he spent a lot of money in his previous stint to win one trophy.
The Gers’ record in cup competitions under the former England international was underwhelming, leading to doubts about his ability to compete with Rodgers.
On the other hand, Ancelotti has no experience as a first-team head coach, and it may be a gamble to count on him to knock Celtic off their perch.
