The coordinated backlash from two of the club’s most influential fan bodies has left the Parkhead board under mounting pressure amid growing unrest across the support.
The CSA, one of the oldest and largest fan organisations connected to Celtic, delivered its damning verdict at the weekend, accusing the board of “failing the supporters” and “failing the club” with a lack of ambition both on and off the pitch. Within hours, the AICSC echoed those sentiments, describing the current direction of the club as “completely unacceptable” and calling for urgent change at the highest level.
Their intervention adds to a tidal wave of anger that has been building among the fanbase in recent weeks. Celtic’s early-season struggles, coupled with frustration at recruitment during the summer transfer window, have left many supporters questioning whether the current leadership is capable of maintaining the club’s domestic dominance — let alone competing effectively in Europe.
The AICSC, which represents thousands of fans travelling from Ireland to Glasgow each season, said it could “no longer remain silent” as they accused the board of showing complacency and a lack of respect for supporters. Their statement warned that the patience of loyal fans is “wearing thin” and that those in charge must “act decisively or step aside.”
The public revolt highlights a widening gulf between the boardroom and the terraces at Celtic Park. With banners of protest already appearing at recent fixtures and chants of discontent growing louder, the criticism is no longer confined to online forums but spilling into matchdays.
For chairman Peter Lawwell and chief executive Michael Nicholson, the challenge is now twofold: to address the immediate footballing concerns while also repairing a fractured relationship with key sections of the fanbase.
