It would cost Rangers around £1.2m to sack Philippe Clement, according to reports

The Scottish Sun claim Ibrox chiefs would have to pay the bumper fee to relieve the Belgian boss of his duties.

Clement has come under increased scrutiny after the Scottish Cup exit to Queen’s Park on Sunday as Rangers crashed out in the fifth round to Scottish Championship opposition.

However, Clement appears set to hold onto his post in the Ibrox dugout despite reports claiming “high-ranking” board members wanted to sack the managerIt’s claimed members of the Ibrox board have had enough but there is not enough free funds to dismiss Clement due to the high pay-out necessary.

Clement still has three-and-a-half years left on his current Ibrox deal after signing a contract extension in the summer.
