SACK WARNING:Daniel Farke will be sacked by Leeds United if they fail to achieve promotion back to the Premier League after a “shocking” run of form.

That is according to former Man United and Sunderland chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that Leeds’ owners will not accept anything other than promotion.

Given the money invested into his squad and the players at his disposal, the weight of expectation is believed to be heavy on the manager’s shoulders.

This comes after Brown told Football Insider last month that Farke is under increasing pressure at Leeds in the closing stages of the season.

The Whites have won just one of their last six Championship games and have dropped to third place, behind both Burnley and Sheffield United.

The German led his side to last season’s playoff final where they were defeated by Southampton, and a repeat of those events would now see him lose his job.

Many Leeds fans have been less than impressed with Farke since last season’s disappointment, and called for his sack after the FA Cup defeat against Millwall in February.

Brown, who has plenty of experience with promoted sides having worked for both Sunderland and Aston Villa during promotion seasons, explained that failure to meet the board’s expectations of promotion would see them pull the trigger.

If they don’t go up, he will be sacked,” he told Football Insider.

“They’ve spent a lot of money on this team and they expect to get promoted, especially after they missed out at the end of last season, and will not accept anything less.

“Often, that expectation can add to the pressure, but he has to make sure he delivers.

“They’ve got the best team and the best players in the Championship.
