The English Football League (EFL) has appointed Dean Whitestone as the referee for Leeds United’s upcoming Championship fixture against Swansea City at the Swansea.

com Stadium. Whitestone, who debuted in the EFL in 2005, has officiated nearly 600 matches, including ten involving Leeds United. This season marks his first overseeing a Leeds game, though he managed three of their fixtures last campaign, notably the 1-0 victory against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

Leeds United currently sit fourth in the Championship standings. A win against Swansea City could propel them into the automatic promotion spots, contingent on other results. Swansea, positioned 11th, enter the match following a narrow 1-0 defeat to Burnley, decided by an injury-time penalty.

The EFL’s selection of Whitestone, given his extensive experience and familiarity with both teams, appears to be a prudent choice. Fans and analysts alike are hopeful for a fair and well-managed contest under his officiation.
