Forget about it’ – Simon Jordan sends strong message to Leeds over Steven Gerrard manager links

Leeds United have been urged to steer clear of Steven Gerrard as a possible successor to boss Daniel Farke.

The Whites were in relentless form, sweeping aside promotion hopefuls Bristol City 4-0 on Monday night, with Farke leading the way from the dugout. His exploits in steering Leeds to automatic promotion has seen his stock rise among the club’s supporters after falling agonisingly short in last season’s Championship play-off final.

However, reports suggest that Farke is yet to receive the seal of approval from everyone at Elland Road, namely the club’s owners 49ers Enterprises consortium.

Fans have since given their backing to the German with many believing he deserves the opportunity to manage the club among the elite next term. The doubts are raised from Farke’s past brush with the top flight when he was relegated as Norwich boss in the 2019/20 campaign.

He was later sacked early in the 2021/22 season after leading the Canaries back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

Senior figures have jetted into Leeds from San Francisco to hold talks with Farke amid reports they have sounded out possible replacements.
