NEWS UPDATE:Former Michigan Wolverines cornerback Khalil Dorsey played a crucial role in the Washington Commanders’ stunning 20-16 victory over the Detroit Lions in Week 2 of the 2023 NFL season.

Dorsey, who had a strong college career with Michigan, was a key defensive presence for the Commanders, intercepting two passes from Lions quarterback Jared Goff to help secure the upset win.

Dorsey’s first interception came early in the second quarter, as he made a key play to stop a promising Lions drive and shift momentum in favor of Washington. His second interception came in the final minutes of the game, effectively sealing the win for the Commanders as Detroit was trying to mount a late comeback. Dorsey’s ability to read Goff’s throws and make timely plays in critical moments was a testament to his growing impact in the NFL.

While the Lions entered the game as favorites, the Commanders’ defense, led by Dorsey, kept Detroit’s offense in check throughout the contest. Washington’s defense not only forced turnovers but also consistently pressured Goff, preventing him from finding a rhythm with his receivers. The Commanders’ defense, as a unit, stepped up when it mattered most, limiting the Lions to just 16 points despite Detroit’s potent offense.

This victory was a significant one for the Commanders, as they were underdogs heading into the matchup. Dorsey’s two-interception performance was a standout moment and earned him recognition as one of the game’s key contributors.
