The 19-year-old left the Whites in 2024 to join Tottenham in a £40million deal but he still regularly follows the Elland Road outfit.The Spurs star came through the academy at Thorp Arch and has a lot of family connection to the Yorkshire club, with his brother among the current squad under Daniel Farke.The Whites won the Championship in dramatic fashion with a 91st-minute Manor Solomon strike putting them ahead of Burnley, with both sides finishing on 100 points.
Ilia Gruev took to Instagram to share an image of himself with the trophy after the late victory, saying: “Wow – 100 points! Champions! What a historic season! Incredible!”The work has only just begun for Farke, as Premier League survival will be an ever harder task than gaining promotion proved to be.
The current newly-promoted teams are set to come straight back down, and the gap between the divisions is bigger than ever.
