
Newcastle united are going full throttle into the rebuild of their attack after a disastrous season has completely rocked The Red Devils.Now, fresh off the back of signing Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers, United are seemingly on the verge of signing Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap.Earlier today, news emerged that Chelsea have pulled ahead in the race for the 22-year-old, however, United may be close to beating them to the prize.
Reliable journalist Rob Dawson of ESPN has reported that United are awaiting a response from Delap as they take a huge step in advancing their pursuit of the star.United have confirmed to Ipswich that will pay the £30 million release clause for Liam Delap which has come down from £40 million due to the side being relegated.
It’s also understood that the outline of personal terms has also been agreed between Manchester United and Delap’s team, meaning that a move could happen in a matter of days.
The striker is currently taking his time to consider his options amid interest from a host of Premier League sides including United and Chelsea.
