Issame Charai, recently appointed as Rangers’ assistant manager, is now expected to assume the role of interim head coach following the departure of Philippe Clement. Charai, a 42-year-old Moroccan-Belgian coach, joined Rangers from French Ligue 1 side Strasbourg just three weeks ago, replacing Andries Ulderink, who left for personal reasons.
Before his tenure at Strasbourg, Charai led Morocco’s Under-23 team to victory in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and has held various coaching positions in Belgium and Saudi Arabia.
Rangers are currently preparing for their upcoming league match against Kilmarnock, with Charai set to oversee training sessions starting this Monday. The club is aiming to stabilize its performance after recent challenges and is hopeful that Charai’s leadership will provide the necessary guidance during this transitional peri
