Jim White in Steven Gerrard Rangers manager claim; mentions Steven Davis and Jordan Henderson
Steven Gerrard is reportedly being lined up for a sensational return to Rangers as the club’s hunt for a new manager goes on.
Barry Ferguson said his Rangers goodbyes after the 2-2 draw with Hibs pulled the curtain down on the Scottish Premiership season.
And now all attentions are turning to who Rangers will appoint as the club’s 20th permanent manager with Steven Gerrard the name most closely mentioned.
With Russell Martin set to drop out of the Rangers race, the pathway is now clear for Gerrard to come into the role at Ibrox.
But there are still plenty of questions over who the legendary Liverpool midfielder might bring with him to Ibrox.

Rangers have retained Issame Charai for a sense of continuity, but if Gerrard is to get the role he will be asked to build a management team.
Jim White has been discussing the situation live on TalkSPORT (21/05/25: 1:22:28) and reckons Gerrard is set to make the move to Ibrox.
The legendary broadcaster also believes that two high-profile names could be set to follow the Scouser into Ibrox.

”Back to the football club, it’s understood, will come Steven Gerrard,” said White.
”And alongside Steven Gerrard, former Rangers player Steven Davis, and alongside the two of them, as an assistant to Gerrard and Davis, Jordan Henderson.”
Former Rangers manager Michael Beale in talks over new job
Michael Beale has worked with Steven Gerrard at Rangers, Aston Villa and most recently Al-Ettifaq before the pair departed Saudi Arabia in January.
Beale, 44, has also embarked on his own managerial career, taking charge of QPR before an 11 month stint at Rangers between 2022 and 2023.
Since a short stint at Sunderland not long after the Rangers gig, Beale has been unable to find another top role in management and is a free agent amid those Gerrard to Rangers reports.
But interestingly, it’s being claimed that Beale has actually held talks with Hull City over the vacant managerial role at the Championship club.
