Lawyers look at mutli-million Rangers takeover developments in Andrew Cavenagh update
Rangers are closing in on new ownership under the stewardship of the 49ers at Ibrox.
It has been a tough season for Rangers supporters to endure with their side delivering well below the expected levels under the management of Philippe Clement for the majority of the campaign.
However, the Light Blues are now under the control of Barry Ferguson, who is preparing for a huge Europa League showdown with Fenerbahce at Ibrox on Thursday, with the 49ers Enterprises possibly present.

Andrew Cavenagh update in Rangers takeover plans
It will have felt like a long season for Rangers, who were realistically out of the title race far too early in the campaign, allowing Celtic to run away with it.
The Gers sit 16 points behind their arch-rivals in the Scottish Premiership having been knocked out of this season’s domestic cup competitions.

Ferguson has overseen just three games so far but having won two of them, including their first Europa League tie at Fenerbahce, it seems as though he might have provided the lift needed.
The Turkish side make the trip back to Ibrox on Thursday (13 March) for a place in the quarter finals and Andrew Cavenagh may want to experience it from the stands.
The Daily Record reports that Cavenagh and the 49ers are closing in on the keys to Ibrox, with lawyers currently going through the multi-million-pound proposals with a “fine tooth comb”.

Rangers ready for 49ers takeover
Things may be looking up under Ferguson for now, but supporters will know that if they want long-term change at Ibrox then they will need this takeover to be completed and in time to get working on a plan for next season.
Although there was no way Clement could stay on as boss for any longer, the problems at Ibrox go much further than just the managerial issues.
For too long, the hierarchy at Rangers has failed to make them successful and sustainable, losing too many players on free contracts while investing money poorly.
The current ownership seems to be too content with levels that most at Rangers see as being a complete failure, which has unsurprisingly, led to backlash from supporters at Ibrox.
No one will want to get too ahead of themselves because things can always take time with big deals like this, but it looks as though things are continuing to move in a positive direction with signs pointing towards a brighter future for Rangers.
