Leeds United’s summer transfer business has hit another snag, with Lecce striker Nikola Krstovic reportedly turning down a move to Elland Road, dealing a blow to the club’s search for attacking reinforcements ahead of their Premier League return.
The Montenegro international had emerged as a top target for Daniel Farke’s side, who are eager to add firepower to their frontline following promotion. However, sources close to the player claim Krstovic has no intention of leaving Serie A this summer, believing another season in Italy is crucial for his development. Despite a promising offer from Leeds, the 24-year-old has politely declined talks.
The decision is yet another frustration in what has been a difficult week for the Whites, who have also seen moves stall for other targets, including their pursuit of a versatile left-back and a central midfielder. Club officials are said to be working around the clock, but negotiations for key additions have either slowed or broken down altogether.
