The defender last committed his future to the club by signing an extension through to the summer of 2027. Speaking around that time, he expressed his happiness at Elland Road, saying it was “really easy” to extend his deal because he’s “really happy here” .
This resolve to stay comes on the back of an impressive 2024–25 season. Struijk managed to score a brace in February off the bench against Sunderland—two headers that swung the game in Leeds’ favor—and helped the side secure the Championship title in early May . Unfortunately, his season was cut short on 11 April by a foot injury sustained in a draw with Luton Town but he still managed to be central to Leeds’ promotion push .
Now fully recovered and under contract for two more years, Struijk is making it clear: he’s ready to work hard, earn his place, and prove he deserves a regular spot in Leeds’ Premier League squad. A welcome message for Whites fans—and a boost for the centre-back competition at the club.
