Leeds United have officially unveiled plans for a major redevelopment of Elland Road Stadium, marking a significant milestone in the club’s long-term ambitions. The £120 million project will see the iconic stadium’s capacity rise from 37,645 to approximately 56,500, making it one of the largest football grounds in the UK.
The expansion, focused primarily on the West Stand, aims to enhance the matchday experience for fans while modernising facilities in line with Premier League standards. The project includes upgraded hospitality suites, improved accessibility, and new commercial and fan engagement spaces.
Chief Executive Angus Kinnear hailed the announcement as a transformative step: “This investment reflects our commitment to both the fans and the future of Leeds United. Elland Road is our home, and this development ensures it will remain at the heart of our identity as we strive for sustained success.”
Construction is expected to begin in late 2025, subject to final planning approvals, with phased work to minimise disruption during the season. The club has reassured supporters that they will be kept fully informed throughout the process.
