The 24-year-old, who played a key role in Feyenoord’s Eredivisie title-winning campaign in 2022/23, has attracted growing interest across Europe thanks to his explosive pace, trickery, and eye for goal.
Leeds had identified Paixão as a top target this summer as they look to bolster their attacking options ahead of another promotion push. The club was reportedly in advanced talks with Feyenoord earlier in the window, but negotiations have stalled in recent weeks due to differences over the transfer fee and personal terms.
Now, Marseille have entered the race and are believed to be in a stronger financial position to meet Feyenoord’s valuation, which is thought to be in the region of £17 million.
