The Swiss international, who arrived from AC Milan earlier this month, was introduced by Daniel Farke in an effort to inject pace and direct attacking threat into Leeds’ frontline. While the scoreline had already tilted heavily in Arsenal’s favour, Okafor offered glimpses of his quality, making several sharp runs and looking eager to make an impact.
Speaking after the match, Farke admitted the debut came in tough circumstances but praised the winger’s attitude:
“It’s never easy for a new player to come into a game like that when we’re chasing it, but Noah showed his willingness to get on the ball and drive us forward. He’ll be a very important player for us once he’s settled.”
Okafor himself remained positive despite the result, telling reporters he is determined to adapt quickly:
“It’s not the debut I imagined in terms of the scoreline, but for me it was special to play my first minutes in the Premier League. I want to help the team and I know I can bring more in the games ahead.”
