Two of these departures will come in the form of loan players returning to their parent clubs, while three senior players are approaching the expiration of their contracts on June 30, 2025.
Among the loan players, Jaidon Anthony, who arrived from Bournemouth, is expected to return after a mixed season at Elland Road. While he showed flashes of quality, Anthony struggled to cement a consistent starting role under manager Daniel Farke. Similarly, Joe Rodon, on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, has been a regular fixture in Leeds’ defence and arguably one of their more reliable performers. However, without a permanent deal in place, Rodon is slated to return to Spurs, though Leeds are understood to be interested in securing his services permanently if terms can be agreed.
Regarding the expiring contracts, three senior players are set to become free agents this summer. Club captain Liam Cooper, now 32, has served Leeds for over a decade and played a key role in their promotion to the Premier League in 2020. However, with age and injuries limiting his contributions, the club may opt not to renew his deal. Stuart Dallas, another long-serving figure who has been sidelined for an extended period with injury, is also out of contract. His future remains uncertain, with fitness concerns overshadowing any potential extension. Finally, Luke Ayling, who has already spent time on loan at Middlesbrough this season, is expected to leave permanently when his contract expires.
These departures mark a period of transition for Leeds United as they look to reshape their squad ahead of the 2025–26 campaign, especially with their promotion ambitions still hanging in the balance.
