The 24-year-old attacking midfielder has agreed to a four-year contract with the newly promoted Premier League club.
Azaz, who joined Middlesbrough in January 2024 for £2 million, has been a standout performer in the Championship, contributing 23 goals and 21 assists over the past two seasons. His impressive performances earned him the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award in November 2024.
Internationally, Azaz has represented the Republic of Ireland, making his senior debut in March 2024 and scoring his first international goal in a 2–1 victory over Bulgaria in March 2025.
Leeds United’s manager, Andoni Iraola, expressed enthusiasm about Azaz’s potential to enhance the team’s midfield options. Azaz’s versatility and playmaking abilities are expected to contribute significantly to Leeds’ Premier League campaign.
With two years remaining on his contract, Azaz is valued at approximately £20 million, a significant increase from the £4 million Middlesbrough paid for him 18 months ago.
Azaz’s move to Leeds United marks a significant step in his career, bringing his talents to the Premier League and furthering his aspirations with the Republic of Ireland national team.
