Leeds United star unhappy at Elland Road despite 111 minutes in last two games
Leeds United’s saga with Nico Elvedi is developing by the minute as the defender could edge closer to a move to Elland Road.
Elvedi has been linked with Leeds as Daniel Farke is hoping to strengthen with a center-back in the January transfer window.
Despite Leeds’ interest, Elvedi would prefer to stay at Borussia Monchengladbach, but the German side have been open to an exit for the 28-year-old.
Daniel Farke is hoping to reunite with Elvedi after the pair worked together during the 2022/23 season, with Farke labelling Elvedi ‘one of the best in Europe’.
A relevant option has come into play as a current Leeds player could contribute to making this deal happen.

Max Wober is ‘dissatisfied’ at Leeds United amid Nico Elvedi swap
Max Wober was wanted by Gladbach last summer and a new report has made this deal more likely to happen, despite him playing 111 minutes in the last two games.
According to Gladbach Live, Wober is ‘dissatisfied’ at Elland Road as the Austrian could return to Gladbach where he was on loan last season.
With Wober, who joined for £11m, being unhappy, he will be pleased to hear that Elvedi has a £8.2m release clause at Gladbach which could make a deal smoother for both players instead of a straight swap.

Gladbach’s managing director Roland Virkus has insisted they have no plans to part ways with any of their core players despite offering Elvedi out to Leeds.
However, this could change if Wober is involved in the deal and could become a transfer that makes all parties happy.
Gladbach believe Elvedi and Wober swap ‘makes sense’
The report goes on to state that the German side believe the deal ‘makes sense from all angles’ which couldn’t be more correct.
Both clubs have the desire to have each other’s player and it seems as though this deal could develop quickly if both players are aligned with joining the respective clubs.
Marseille are now a part of the equation, as Marseille can help Leeds by selling Lillian Brassier to Gladbach as a replacement for Elvedi.
There are plenty of elements to this deal and it makes Farke’s claim of a quiet transfer window laughable.
Leeds’ plan of signing four positions included a centre-back and if all elements come to fruition this swap deal might just happen.
