Reflecting on this significant milestone, Ayr United’s Academy head, Davie White, expressed immense pride:

“Essentially, we’ve supported Luke to become a million-pound player. The fact that he’s now with a team that’s in the Champions League… is inspirational for everybody that was involved with Luke.”

White also highlighted McCowan’s gratitude and humility, noting that before making his debut for Celtic, the midfielder reached out to thank those at Ayr who had been instrumental in his development. This journey underscores the importance of nurturing local talent and the profound impact that dedicated coaching and support can have on a player’s career.
