Illan Meslier exit: Clear Leeds transfer news emerges for goalkeeper
Manchester United’s stance on signing Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier has become clearer.
Leeds currently sit top of the Championship table and appear on course to book their spot in next season’s Premier League, with just 11 second-tier fixtures remaining.
The Whites currently have a five-point cushion over third place Burnley, and appear set to win automatic promotion back to the top-flight at the second time of asking, following their relegation from the Premier League in 2023.
If Leeds win promotion to the Premier League, they will be competing against rivals Man United once more, as well as the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea.
But while the Whites will be keen to get what would be a famous win over the Red Devils next season, the Old Trafford outfit’s transfer stance on one of Farke’s players has been revealed.

Onana has faced growing scrutiny this season, and has conceded 39 goals in 27 Premier League appearances this term, while Ruben Amorim’s men have a negative goal difference in the top-flight.
However, TEAMtalk now report that Man United are no longer interested in signing Leeds goalkeeper Meslier.

Meslier has faced criticism this term
Leeds supporters will not be surprised that their goalkeeper is no longer of interest to Man United, who are looking to find an upgrade on the error prone Onana.
Somewhat ironically, Meslier has also faced criticism for making errors this season, despite the fact he has also managed the impressive feat of maintaining 20 clean sheets in 35 outings this term.
One such moment came on Saturday afternoon, when his positioning left him vulnerable as he was beaten by Darnell Furlong’s looping header during a 1-1 draw with West Brom.
Meslier’s most notable error this term came back in October, when he was at fault for Sunderland’s 92nd minute equaliser in a 2-2 draw with the Mackems at the Stadium of Light.
On that occasion, Leeds left-back Junior Firpo was credited with an unwanted own goal, but it was Meslier who was at fault, as he let a bouncing ball squirm through his hands and into the goal
