One Manchester City fan noted how it was bizarre that many others were against the idea of bringing Rodrygo in this summer: “People are actually against Rodrygo coming to City? He’s 24 years old. We’ve watched him tear us apart in the Champions League. He’s a serial winner which is a mentality we need to maintain. He has the ability to become/already is world-class. Surpasses our current options too.”Another City supporter agreed and felt the two-time Champions League winner’s addition is a must at the Etihad Stadium: “We need a proven winger who will add goals and assists and take the burden off [Erling] Haaland. He’s scored 14 or more goals in the last three seasons, judging by [Jeremy] Doku, Savio and [Oscar] Bobb’s track record, they have never come close to those numbers. I don’t know why we’re relying on wingers that are not proven at the highest level yet. If we have to put up another £100 million, then so be it, we need quality and depth out wide.”
