TRANSFER NEWS:Newcastle United are reportedly eyeing two Borussia Dortmund players as part of their summer recruitment strategy.

The Magpies are looking to bolster their squad with a blend of youth and experience, focusing on positions that could enhance their attacking and defensive options.

1. Nico Schlotterbeck – Central Defender

Newcastle have shown interest in Borussia Dortmund’s central defender Nico Schlotterbeck. The 24-year-old has been a consistent performer for Dortmund, making eight starts in the Bundesliga and Champions League this season. His performances have also earned him a place in the German national team. Reports suggest that both Liverpool and Newcastle are considering a move for Schlotterbeck, with Dortmund potentially valuing him at around €50 million (£41.69 million).

2. Yankuba Minteh – Winger

Newcastle’s Yankuba Minteh, who spent last season on loan at Feyenoord, has caught the attention of Borussia Dortmund. The 19-year-old winger impressed during his loan spell, scoring 11 goals and providing six assists in 37 appearances. Dortmund’s new head coach, Nuri Sahin, is reportedly keen on bringing Minteh to Signal Iduna Park, viewing him as a potential replacement for Jadon Sancho or as added depth if Donyell Malen or Karim Adeyemi depart.

With both clubs engaged in transfer discussions, it remains to be seen how these potential moves will unfold as the summer transfer window approaches.
