Here we go: Newcastle United are set to break their wage structure to make Alexander Isak the club’s highest paid player ever.

After a stunning campaign—scoring 23 Premier League goals and playing a pivotal role in lifting the Carabao Cup—Isak has attracted heavy interest from Liverpool, Arsenal, and Barcelona .

According to The Times, Newcastle plan to offer Isak a new deal at over £150,000 per week, eclipsing current top earners like Sandro Tonali, Bruno Guimarães, and Anthony Gordon . They’re motivated not only by his goal-scoring brilliance—62 goals in three seasons since arriving from Real Sociedad—but also by Champions League qualification and manager Eddie Howe’s vision of Isak as the centerpiece of the squad .

While clubs like Liverpool are reportedly preparing huge offers (potentially £150 m+), Newcastle are determined to hold their ground. Their Saudi-backed ownership isn’t looking to sell, and early July negotiations are expected . By increasing Isak’s weekly wage and cementing Champions League status, Newcastle aim to secure their star striker’s long-term future at St. James’ Park.
