
The Nigerian international, who arrived from Watford in 2022 for around £20 million, struggled to make an impact at the club. He registered only 25 appearances, scoring two goals and providing three assists, while spending loan spells at Istanbul Basaksehir and Blackburn Rovers.
Forest announced on Sunday that Dennis has left the club following the mutual termination of his contract, ending his two-year stint in Nottingham.
“Nottingham Forest can confirm that Emmanuel Dennis has left the Club following the mutual termination of his contract. We wish Emmanuel well for the future,” the club said in an official statement.
The decision comes as a surprise given the timing, with Nuno Espírito Santo’s side preparing to face West Ham at 2pm BST.
Forest head into the fixture unbeaten this season after a 3–1 win over Brentford and a 1–1 draw at Crystal Palace, while Graham Potter’s West Ham arrive under pressure following a string of heavy defeats.
