Borussia Dortmund has officially announced the signing of talented English midfielder Jobe Bellingham on a four-year contract, marking another exciting chapter in the club’s history of nurturing young talent. The 18-year-old, younger brother of Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham, joins from Sunderland after a standout season in the Championship where he showcased remarkable maturity and technical skill beyond his years.
Dortmund’s sporting director praised Jobe’s potential and versatility, highlighting his ability to play in multiple midfield roles. “Jobe is a dynamic player with excellent vision and composure. We believe he has what it takes to thrive at the highest level,” he stated during the announcement.
The move to Dortmund reunites the Bellingham name with the German giants, following Jude’s successful spell at the club before his move to Spain. The Bundesliga side is renowned for developing young players, making it an ideal environment for Jobe to continue his development.
In his first statement as a Dortmund player, Jobe expressed his excitement and ambition: “I’m proud to join such a historic club. I want to work hard, grow as a player, and contribute to the team’s success.”
Bellingham is expected to join pre-season training in July.
