Premier League club swoop in on Rangers manager target as Ancelotti’s Brazil trip put on hold
As Rangers’ hunt for a new manager goes on, one Premier League outfit have officially announced a would-be gaffer who reportedly turned down the Ibrox gig.
Reports have suggested that Rangers have been in talks with Brian Priske, the former Feyenoord manager the latest name to be mentioned alongside the manager’s position.
Davide Ancelotti remains best-placed to become the next Rangers manager, with Steven Gerrard and Leicester City-coveted Russell Martin also mentioned as candidates.
But just days after reportedly turning down interest from Rangers, former RC Lens manager Will Still has landed a top gig with one of the Premier League’s wounded clubs.

Will Still appointed at relegated Premier League club Southampton
Southampton have appointed Will Still as the club’s new manager a week after the 32-year-old Englishman left Ligue 1 side RC Lens.
Reports had suggested Still turned down an approach from Rangers heading into the new season, with the Belgian-born coach hoping to return to England due to a brain illness affecting his wife.
Ahead of Southampton’s final Premier League match of the season – with the Saints already relegated and destined for the Championship – Still has been announced as the club’s new manager.

Davide Ancelotti’s Brazil trip on hold amid Rangers talks
The hunt for the next Rangers manager goes on with progress expected to be made at Ibrox this week following the completion of many of Europe’s top leagues.
Davide Ancelotti has announced his exit from Real Madrid, with the coach’s legendary father Carlo waving goodbye to the Bernabeu this weekend.
Carlo Ancelotti is set to take up a job with the Brazil national side and initially it had been expected Davide would join up with his dad for the nation’s upcoming World Cup Qualifiers.

But a report in the Athletic has suggested that might not be the case, with Rangers’ interest in Davide Ancelotti potentially set to scupper those plans.
It’s claimed that Carlo Ancelotti is set to travel to Brazil on Sunday 25th May but assistants Davide and Francesco Mauri will miss out due ‘because of their chances of being chosen to be the new Rangers coaching staff‘.
The latest reports surrounding Davide Ancelotti and Rangers have suggested the Ibrox side will hold further talks with the coach this week.
