
Barry Ferguson has warned Russell Martin that Rangers’ clash with Hearts has quickly become a must-win for the under pressure boss.It comes amid support for Steven Gerrard to step back into the Ibrox hot seat – having previously held talks with the the new owners at the Glasgow giants earlier this summer.Martin has yet to win over the Rangers support after failing to win any of his four opening league games, while exiting the Champions League with a 9-1 aggregate defeat to Club BruggeEarlier this week, sporting director Kevin Thelwell offered a public show of support by branding Martin one of the best coaches he has worked with.
But Ferguson – who held the Ibrox hot seat on an interim basis before Martin’s appointment – reckons defeat to Derek McInnes’ table-toppers could change the mindset.
