Rangers’ Europa League opponents to fight manager’s four-match ban

Fenerbahce are planning on appealing the four-match ban handed to manager Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho, 62, was given the punishment by Turkish authorities for comments aimed towards arch-rivals Galatasaray, where he suggested that their bench were “behaving like monkeys”.

 

The two-time Champions League winner has also been fined £35k.

 

But Fenerbahce insist that the alleged racist remarks had been taken “completely out of context”.

 

The suspension applies only to domestic fixtures, meaning the “Special One” will be in the dugout when Fenerbahce face Rangers in the Europa League Round of 16 next Thursday.

 

Sky Sports claim Fenerbahce are considering a lawsuit against Galatasaray too, so it seems that this story will continue to evolve.
