RETURNS DEAL:José Cifuentes Signs Return Deal with Rangers After Emotional Loan Farewell

José Cifuentes has officially sealed his return to Rangers FC, putting pen to paper in a highly anticipated signing session at Ibrox. The Ecuadorian midfielder was all smiles as he donned the club’s new 2024/25 jersey while completing his paperwork, marking a fresh chapter in his career following a loan spell at Aris Thessaloniki.

Cifuentes, who joined Rangers from LAFC in 2023, spent the last season on loan in Greece, where he played a pivotal role in helping Aris secure European qualification. Despite his strong performances, Aris declined to activate the £4 million purchase option, paving the way for the midfielder’s return to Glasgow.

In an emotional farewell to Aris, Cifuentes thanked fans, teammates, and staff for their support throughout the season. Now back at Rangers, the 25-year-old is determined to fight for his place in Russell Martin’s evolving squad.

Sources suggest Cifuentes still has two years left on his Rangers contract, and the club is open to reintegrating him or considering offers should interest arise. Either way, his return adds midfield depth and sparks intrigue about his future under the club’s new regime.
