While rivals Celtic dominate headlines with their Champions League campaign and transfer market moves, Cameron believes the lack of outside noise around Rangers could be a blessing in disguise.
“We’re not the ones getting all the media attention right now, and that’s totally fine,” Cameron said. “It gives us room to focus, to gel as a squad, and to build something without the pressure of constant scrutiny.”
The 21-year-old, who joined Rangers this summer after an impressive spell with Dundee, has quickly settled into life at Ibrox. Reflecting on his journey, Cameron was keen to highlight his modest beginnings in Scottish football.
“I’ve come a long way from those early days at Dundee, training in the cold and playing in front of a few hundred fans,” he said. “Now I’m at a club with huge history, massive expectations, and I’m just grateful for the opportunity.”
Cameron’s rise has been steady rather than spectacular, but he credits his work ethic and the guidance of past coaches for his development. At Rangers, he’s aiming to continue that upward trajectory.
“There’s fierce competition for places here, and I know I need to prove myself every day. But I welcome that. It pushes me to be better.”
With Rangers looking to bounce back from a trophyless campaign, Cameron’s grounded mentality and hunger could play a crucial role. And as far as he’s concerned, staying “under the radar” might just be the perfect formula for success this season.
