Celtic and Rangers have reportedly held positive talks over allowing away fans back into stadiums for their latest Old Firm clash next month.Interim Gers boss Barry Ferguson takes his team to Parkhead on Sunday March 16, with the Ibrox side currently trailing Brendan Rodgers’ team at the top of the Premiership by 13 points after their thrilling 4-2 comeback victory against Kilmarnock on Wednesday night. And according to The Sun, the clubs are close to striking an agreement that will see Rangers fans fill out the away section in Glasgow’s East End next month.They add that both clubs are now happy with the safety procedures in place and that the Gers are expected to receive around 2,5000 tickets. Briefs are yet to go on sale but the report adds that supporters groups on both sides of the Glasgow divide have been informed about the latest developments.There have been no away fans present at an Old Firm fixture since the two teams played out a 2-2 draw at Ibrox in January 2023. Since then, eight matches have been played at both grounds with home fans only. The club had struck a deal to allow away fans back into the derby clashes from the start of this season but that was later revoked by Celtic over their concerns that Ibrox would not be able to house away supporters in the fixture on January 2 after it had to undergo major repairs to the Copland Stand over the summer and into the first two months of the campaign.
