The Light Blues boss has faced growing pressure after a turbulent start to the campaign, but speaking ahead of the weekend clash, he admitted the unique demands of managing Rangers have brought unexpected positives.
“It’s like nothing else in football,” Martin said. “In a perverse way I’ve enjoyed it. You learn and grow through difficult moments — not just as individuals, but as a group of staff and players as well.”
Martin stressed that the constant focus on Rangers only highlights the scale of the club and the passion of its support.
Meanwhile, the manager confirmed that Rothwell is fit again and will be available for selection, while Lyall Cameron is also nearing a return. Long-term absentees Rabbi Matondo and Dujon Sterling have resumed training, although neither is expected to feature immediately.
With scrutiny at its peak and results crucial, Martin hopes the return of key players will strengthen his squad and help ease the mounting pressure in the weeks ahead.
