ACCORDING TO SKY SPORT:Former Rangers manager Alex McLeish has thrown his support behind Kevin Muscat, backing the Australian to take over as the next head coach at Ibrox.

McLeish, who led the club to multiple trophies during his spell in charge, believes Muscat has all the qualities needed to succeed in Glasgow and continue the attacking philosophy that has defined his coaching career in Australia and Japan.

“Kevin knows what it means to represent Rangers — he’s been there, he’s worn the jersey, and he understands the demands that come with it,” McLeish said. “He’s developed into a top-class coach with a strong mentality and a clear football identity.”

Muscat, currently one of the leading contenders for the vacant Rangers post, has impressed with his tactical style and success in both the A-League and J-League, earning plaudits for his dynamic, high-intensity approach.

With Rangers continuing their search for a new manager after Russell Martin’s departure, McLeish’s endorsement adds further weight to Muscat’s candidacy as pressure builds for the club to make a decisive appointment.
