TRANSFER UPDATES:Rangers are reportedly eager to secure the permanent signing of Czech winger Václav Černý from Wolfsburg in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Since joining on loan in July 2024, Černý has been a standout performer for the club, netting 12 goals and providing several assists across all competitions . Manager Philippe Clement has praised Černý’s impact, noting that the player has expressed feeling the best he ever has in his career while at Rangers .

However, the path to a permanent deal is complicated by financial constraints. Wolfsburg, having acquired Černý for £7 million from Twente, reportedly value him at £8 million . Rangers did not negotiate a purchase option in the initial loan agreement, and Clement has acknowledged that the club currently lacks the funds to meet Wolfsburg’s asking price . Despite these challenges, Rangers are determined to pursue a permanent transfer, contingent on financial flexibility and negotiations with Wolfsburg .

Černý’s future remains uncertain, with other clubs such as Villarreal and West Ham reportedly interested in his services . As the season progresses, both Rangers and Černý will be closely monitoring developments to determine the next steps in his career.
