Rangers in advanced talks with Leeds chief over ‘multi-million’ Ibrox deal
Rangers have endured some tumultuous times both in terms of financial restrictions and on-pitch form over recent years.

Rangers are understood to be in “advanced talks” with San Francisco 49ers, also the owners of Leeds United, for a potentially huge takeover deal, according to the Daily Record.
The NFL franchise are currently bankrolling Leeds who look destined for a return to the Premier League, and Gers could be next in line under their ever-expanding sporting network worth millions of pounds of investment according to the report (19 February).

For so long now, Rangers have been unable to compete financially with Celtic and with board members having left considerable voids in the operations of the Ibrox club, this could be a massive turnaround should a takeover be agreed with the US-based firm.
One of the key figures supporting the proposal is Paraag Marathe, chairman of Leeds United and the leading marksman in the consortium bidding to buy Rangers and restore the Light Blues to their former glories.
It is understood via the report that another major American business individual is involved in the project, which could turn Rangers’ fortunes – but it would be a difficult deal to iron out given the multitude of minor shareholders involved in selling their respective stakes.
