Cyriel Dessers joining Cagliari from Rangers would be the “icing on the cake” for the Serie A club, according to Edoardo Mecca.
The Italian radio broadcaster posted on X (10 January) his complimentary view of the Gers striker in response to Gianluca di Marzio’s report the previous day that Cagliari remain interested in acquiring his services, as well as fellow Serie A outfit Empoli.Dessers could be set for a January exit from Rangers, where he has fallen out of favour under Philippe Clement, and an opportunity to test himself in the Italian top flight could be approaching.
Replying to di Marzio’s post, Mecca said: “Dessers would be the icing on the cake.”With Dessers now behind both Hamza Igamane and Danilo in Clement’s pecking order and having turned 30 last month, it could be time for him to seek pastures new.
