Ryan Kent makes feelings clear on next move as Rangers hero looks to escape wilderness amid Spain ‘interest’

The winger is still without a club having left Fenerbahce as a free agent in October

Free agent Ryan Kent is reportedly only eyeing a deal in Europe as he looks to kickstart his career following his Fenerbahce exit.

The winger saw his big-money contract in Istanbul ripped up just 16 months after leaving Rangers behind having barely featured for the Turkish giants since his Ibrox exit. The former Scottish Premiership title winner and Europa League finalist has been without a club in October. Reports had suggested that a move to the Saudi Pro League was on the cards for the 27-year-old during the winter window, while an offer was also said to be on the table from Iranian side Persepolis where former Fenerbahce boss Ismail Kartal currently manages.

However, a deal has failed to materialise and Fotomac report that the winger has made it “clear” to his agent that he wants to remain in European football. It is noted that has been factored into Kent’s long wait to find a new club.

But Spanish outlet Fichajes claim that the Englishman could finally get his wish. Both Real Sociedad and Villarreal are “competing” to bring the forward in on a short-term deal.

Both sides are said to be looking for “an opportunity to strengthen their attacks” outside of the transfer window with Kent seen as a “low-cost signing with significant potential”. It is said the Liverpool academy graduate has “aspirations in the Spanish league”.
