EXCLUSIVE DEAL:West Ham United are actively seeking a midfielder capable of anchoring the center of the pitch, a role left vacant by Declan Rice’s departure to Arsenal.

Under new manager Graham Potter, the club is exploring several options to strengthen their midfield.

Potential Targets

Raphaël Onyedika (Club Brugge): The Nigerian defensive midfielder is noted for his physicality and ball-winning abilities. At just 22, Onyedika offers both immediate impact and long-term potential. West Ham have reportedly shown interest in acquiring him this summer.

Stijn Spierings (Toulouse): Standing at 6’2″, Spierings is a dynamic holding midfielder known for his impressive defensive statistics, including over 300 ball recoveries in the 2022–23 season. His contract is set to expire, making him a potential free-agent acquisition.

Tyler Adams (Leeds United): Following Leeds’ relegation, Adams’ versatility and tenacity in midfield have attracted attention. Despite an injury-shortened season, he remains a strong candidate for clubs seeking a robust midfield presence.

Nicolo Fagioli (Juventus): The Italian midfielder is recognized for his energy and technical skills. Although he faced a seven-month suspension in 2023, Fagioli has since returned to form, making 22 appearances for Juventus. Reports suggest that Juventus may be open to a loan deal with an option to buy, which could be appealing to West Ham.

João Palhinha (Fulham): Regarded as a top-tier defensive midfielder, Palhinha has been linked with West Ham as a potential replacement for Rice. However, his high valuation and Fulham’s reluctance to sell could complicate negotiations.

As the transfer window progresses, West Ham’s pursuit of a midfield anchor continues, with several promising candidates under consideration.
