José Mourinho mocking a West Ham United and Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma or making public statements about being a dog lover.

However, their professional relationship dates back to their time at Chelsea, where Mourinho managed Zouma from 2014 to 2015.

During their tenure together, Mourinho was known for his candid feedback. Zouma once recounted an incident where, after a subpar performance, Mourinho told him he was “rubbish,” which, though shocking, motivated Zouma to improve.

Regarding animal welfare, in May 2007, Mourinho faced legal issues when he was arrested for preventing animal welfare officials from quarantining his dog, which hadn’t been properly inoculated. This incident suggests a personal connection to his pets.

In February 2022, Zouma was widely criticized after a video surfaced showing him mistreating his cat. The incident led to public outrage, legal consequences, and disciplinary actions from his club, West Ham United.

While Mourinho has previously teased Zouma and has had his own experiences involving pets, there is no evidence to suggest that Mourinho has recently mocked Zouma regarding the 2022 incident or publicly declared himself a dog lover in that context.
