revealed for QPR with three players unavailable for selection
A look at the options Daniel Farke has available for today’s Championship clash. The final international break of the 2024/25 season is nearly upon us and Leeds United look well-placed to seal a Premier League return.
Buoyed after the midweek win over Millwall, the Whites head to Queens Park Rangers knowing a victory will see them extend their lead at the top of the Championship to five points. Third-placed Burnley travel to Swansea City later today while Sheffield United face arch rivals Sheffield Wednesday in the Steel City derby tomorrow lunchtime. It is crunch time in the promotion race and Whites chief Daniel Farke is chasing his third promotion out of the Championship. Given the quick turnaround, Farke, who twice won the title with Norwich City, said he will make some “late decisions” on his starting line-up for the trip to the capital. On listening to the medical staff, Farke said: “They are always worried and give some warnings…and mostly, I ignore them if I am honest and just pick the team! “(Seriously) of course, I take into account what is necessary and am a bit more careful sometimes. I would not do anything stupid if a player is a risk. I totally trust Henry (McStay – head of medicine) and the medical team and our sport science (staff). I listen to them, but in the end, it is up to me to make decisions.
“They, of course, support with some objective data and opinions about the recovery status of players, but in the end, it is my responsibility to take the calls. If it doesn’t work, I cannot blame them and it is just me who is to blame.”
