In 2021, discussions between the club and Wolverhampton Council were ongoing, with the redevelopment plans being put on hold due to financial considerations and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. As of February 2025, no new updates have been provided, and the plans remain on hold.
The City of Wolverhampton Council has expressed readiness to support the club’s redevelopment efforts. In May 2022, the council detailed proposals for a ‘Molineux Quarter,’ aiming to enhance the area surrounding the stadium and improve infrastructure.
Currently, Molineux Stadium has a capacity of approximately 31,700 seats. The proposed redevelopment aims to modernize the facility and accommodate a larger number of fans, reflecting the club’s ambitions.
