World’s richest football club owners and where Leeds United and 49ers rank

The latest Leeds United news as the 49ers Enterprise have been heavily linked with a takeover at Rangers, as they look to lead Leeds back to the Premier League.      Leeds United will be hoping to compete with some of the richest clubs in the world next season as they look to return to the Premier League.

 

The Whites are in their second season in the Championship and suffered heartbreak in the play-off final last year as they fell at the final hurdle against Southampton at Wembley. There is, however, smiles back on faces at Elland Road this season.     The time in the Championship has come under the ownership of 49ers Enterprises, who completed a takeover of the club in July 2023. Although the 49ers bought a 15% stake at Leeds in 2018, increasing that to 44% in 2021, they were involved at board level during that period, and it is only since their full takeover that they have called the shots outright.      However, the club’s chairman, Paraag Marathe, has now been named as part of a consortium looking to buy Scottish side Rangers. It is claimed that talks are at an advanced stage over a £100 million takeover.
