Bad news for Leeds United as Spurs scouts mistakenly turn their attention to £5m Daniel Farke target

Bad news for Leeds United as Spurs scouts mistakenly turn their attention to £5m Daniel Farke target

Leeds United’s game against Sunderland on Monday night was watched by many a Championship fan. Indeed, the game was also taken in by some Premier League scouts.

And those scouts might be thinking what many others are right now, and that’s that Leeds United are nailed on to win the Championship title this season.

Many pundits and football fans are tipping Leeds United for promotion to the Premier League but Daniel Farke knows first hand that the season isn’t over until it’s over, and that anything can happen in the final weeks of a promotion push.

His side are in good nick, though. Leeds beat Sunderland 2-1 on Monday night having come from behind in the game, with the Whites now 15 games unbeaten in the Championship ahead of their Monday night showdown with Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.

A win on Monday night could all but seal Leeds’ fate this season. And it could push Farke into putting even more emphasis on the summer transfer window with Leeds already drawing up a list of targets.

Per recent reports, a new target for Leeds United is Sunderland striker Wilson Isidor.

Spurs and Crystal Palace impressed by Wilson Isidor vs Leeds United

Isidor was the man who gave Sunderland the lead at Elland Road on Monday night. The Frenchman turned Ethan Ampadu with ease and then finished off the post for his 12th goal of the season so far, having made his loan spell with Sunderland permanent during the January transfer window.

Sunderland paid £5million to sign the 24-year-old. Already though he’s attracting interest from elsewhere. Soon after Leeds United were linked with Isidor, it’s now been claimed by Chronicle Live that Spurs and Crystal Palace scouts are impressed by the big striker.

They write that Spurs and Palace both had scouts at Elland Road on Monday night, with both clubs linked with a number of other Sunderland players. In the end though, they were most impressed by Isidor.

Wilson Isidor’s stance on leaving Sunderland

Isidor has taken to life at Sunderland very well. Not only is he performing and scoring but he’s also hugely popular with the fans, who can see just how much Isidor loves playing for the club.

And speaking before his loan spell was made permanent, Isidor hinted at his Sunderland future, suggesting that he wants to play for the Black Cats for a long time to come still.

He said: “I am on loan but with an optional buy. But no, for me, I want to continue with Sunderland and write the club into my career and my history.”

But whilst Isidor may be committed to Sunderland, the Wearside club remains a selling one. If a big offer comes in then it’d make financial sense for them to cash in, and with more and more teams seeing his brilliance, the chances of that big offer coming in are growing.

For Leeds, it could be a great signing. Right now though it seem an unlikely one.
